A terrace board made of wood-polymer composite does not require constant maintenance, since the polymer in the composition coats the fibers of wood flour and protects it from moisture. Dyes and light stabilizers guarantee the preservation of the color of the material for 25 years. During the operation of the deck board, it is necessary to:
• maintain cleanliness in the space between the structural elements of the boards & panels, and ensure unhindered drainage of rain and melted snow;
• monitor the cleanliness of expansion gaps and joints;
• if mold spots start to appear on the boards, use a diluted chlorine cleaner (make sure to test on a small area first)
• in case of oil or grease stains, immediately apply degreaser. If stains remain, use a wire brush or sandpaper (depending on the selected material). Do not use solvents.
• remove minor scratches on matte surface by light cleaning with a wire brush or sandpaper (depending on the selected profile).
• WPC terrace boards do not require any special treatment. It is possible to cover with varnish, oil, or paint (it is recommended to wait 4-6 months after laying the flooring, and make sure to test on a small area beforehand).
• Terrace flooring cannot be used as a base (foundation) for other buildings/structures. It can withstand a uniformly distributed maximum load declared by the manufacturer, associated with the presence and passage of people, household furniture, and equipment. Special types of boards are available for flooring under heavy loads, or flooring for industrial premises.
